The main characters on HBO’s hit series Sex and the City lived on for two additional movies after that show ended, and now the Entourage cast has likewise reunited for a big screen adventure. Doug Ellin’s comedy/drama program – loosely based on executive producer Mark Wahlberg’s real-life experiences when he made the jump to Hollywood film acting – ended in 2011 after eight seasons and numerous award nods and wins (that includes a Golden Globe for Jeremy Piven as the ever-stressed agent, Ari Gold).

Entourage season 8 did tie up a number of the show’s character plot threads in such a manner that would allow for continuation in a movie – one which began production earlier this year, as it were. The film has now received its own first trailer (watch it above), not too long after new previews debuted for its fellow anticipated June 2015 releases, in Universal’s Jurassic World and Pixar’s Inside Out.

For those who are curious, here’s a description of the Entourage movie (included with the new trailer release):

Movie star Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier), together with his boys, Eric (Kevin Connolly), Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) and Johnny (Kevin Dillon), are back…and back in business with super-agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven). Some of their ambitions have changed, but the bond between them remains strong as they navigate the capricious and often cutthroat world of Hollywood.

Entourage the movie – which Ellin both wrote and directed – looks to feature many a cameo and/or “guest star”, with the trailer alone including appearances by Billy Bob Thornton, Haley Joel Osment, and Ronda Rousey, before Wahlberg himself pops up at the conclusion of the preview. Judging by this footage, though, Entourage won’t bother trying to buck the trend where TV shows-turned movies aren’t engineered to be all that accessible to anyone beyond the original series’ fanbase (see this year’s Veronica Mars, for instance).

… There are, however, jokes here that are universal enough for Entourage newcomers to at least appreciate. For example, the references to Aquaman on the below poster – a one-sheet for Vincent’s fake movie within the movie, Hyde - won’t mean a whole lot to newcomers, but the way the poster (and the footage in the trailer) riff on superhero movie tropes (in particular, the Amazing Spider-Man series) ought to be apparent to more people.

Entourage opens in U.S. theaters on June 5th, 2015.
