Dungeons & Dragons Movie Casts My Spy Star Chloe Coleman

Young actress, Chloe Coleman, had joined the cast of Paramount/eOne's Dungeons & Dragons. Dungeons & Dragons, commonly referred to as D&D, was originally created in 1974 as a fantasy, role-playing board game. The franchise has since expanded to online gameplay, with over 13 million players worldwide and a strong presence on video game live stream services like YouTube and Twitch. D&D also received a short-lived television series from 1983-1985, and its first film adaptation in 2000. Its latest film adaptation, starring Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez, is set to premiere in 2022.

According to Deadline, Coleman – who recently starred in My Spy alongside Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista – is set to join the stacked ensemble cast of Dungeons & Dragons. The cast also includes many other Hollywood up-and-comers like Sophia Lillis (It and It 2), Justice Smith (All The Bright Places), and Regé-Jean Page (Netflix's Bridgerton). While Coleman's role in the film has not yet been disclosed, Deadline included that:

Paramount and eOne are jointly producing and financing the pic, with eOne distributing in the UK and Canada and Paramount in the rest of the world. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley will direct and write the script. Jeremy Latcham is producing through his deal with studio eOne, Hasbro’s entertainment arm. Hasbro’s Brian Goldner is also producing. Plot details behind this latest take on the IP are being kept under wraps.

At just 12 years old, Coleman managed to secure her standing on Variety's Top 30 Actors under age 18, so there is no doubt her star power will bring in a younger audience to the D&D franchise. Coleman's Hollywood status is only enhanced by her consistent work with some of the biggest names in the film industry; she has co-starred with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Lopez in Marry Me, with Adam Driver in the upcoming 65, and is set to star in James Cameron's highly anticipated Avatar 2. Additionally, Coleman's presence as a young actress of color will inspire other young POC actresses to follow their dreams and see themselves in roles of fantasy and science-fiction. No matter her role in the film, Coleman is sure to capture audiences' hearts when Dungeons & Dragons premieres.
